LATEST UPDATE - Wednesday 26th October
HALF LAP COMPLETED! We arrived back in Sydney on 11th October after an amazing 205 days and 27,221kms. Since arriving back we have been featured on the Expedition Australia blog and we are updating our facebook page and blogs with some of the stories, places and photos from the trip. Hope you can stick around as we start saving and planning for the second half.
Inspired by travel and photography, we packed our car, tent and cameras and headed off on the first part of our round Australia 4wd adventure. Taking in parts of South Australia, the Red Centre, Western Australia and the Great Ocean Road, back to Sydney in 7 months. We camped, photographed, watched sunrise and sunset, explored and experienced the vast, diverse and very special Australian landscape. You can watch how the journey unfolded here.
Starting in Adelaide, in late March/early April 2016, our route will take us around South Australia, up through the Red Centre and Ayers Rock, across to Western Australia and then down the WA coast. Finally heading back through South Australia again and the Great Ocean Road back to Sydney.
After meeting at a photo course in London in 2009, Kath and Susan have travelled extensively, both together and separately through many inspiring countries and landscapes. Wanting to reconnect with Aussie soil, they both decided to return at the end of 2014 and left on the first part of their road trip in March 2016. Kathy joined us from England in late June to experience and photograph from Broome to Sydney.
